Dr Richard Madronal-Luque, Clinical Psychologist - DClinPsych; PGDipCBT
I am a Chartered Clinical Psychologist and a member of the British Psychological Society (BPS). I am also professionally registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and have over 20 years of clinical experience of working in the NHS and in private practice. I have experience of working with adolescences and adults presenting with various complex physical health and mental health difficulties. During my career, I have been afforded the opportunity to develop and manage a number of different services, including Secondary Care Psychological Services (i.e., severe & enduring presentations), specialist Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder Services and Specialist Psychosis Services.
Within my private practice, I always adapt therapy to meet the individual needs of the person with the aim of supporting them to overcome and manage their difficulties. I am able to treat a wide range of issues including:
Obsessive Compulsive-Disorder and related presentations (e.g., body dysmorphic disorder, trichotillomania)
Anxiety (i.e., generalised anxiety disorder, panic disorder, social anxiety, health anxiety, and phobia)
Low mood and depression
Post Traumatic Stress Disorder
Bipolar affective disorder,
Chronic fatigue syndrome
Sleep disorder and related difficulties.
I use a range of different psychological approaches to help me accommodate the fact that people are uniquely different in the way they experience and understand their difficulties. The approaches I use include Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance & Commitment Therapy, Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy, Family Interventions and Cognitive Narrative Therapy.
I am a registered provider with the majority of private insurance companies and accept self-funded clients, (fees for privately funded clients are negotiable depending on the particular circumstances and the number of persons undergoing active therapy).
